For Safety, When installing your battery and PV cable to Solar Controller, Please make sure your Breaker is in the Open position, which means the line has no power going through the cable.

After PV and battery cable are installed, Close the Battery's Breaker first, let the controller read your battery first and Controller will power on.

Then Close the PV breaker and let the PV power enter controller to charge your battery after the controller display power on.
