………. “What’s New” is a 2 nd generation alternative, a very Simple Design Solution using a Drop-In Custom Adapter Kit . Please, review the attached Graphics now . The last attachment shows the assembly in graphical format (i.e., drop in the Adapter & install the Retaining Screw ). Note : Detailed written accompanying instructions are included in the Kit. ……… The Adapter comes COMPLETELY PRE-ASSEMBLED , including a 1-1/2” EMT Body with the Upper & Lower Sleeves. Four circumferential ¼” hex socket set screws secure the Sleeves to the Body. Also, adjusting these set screws creates a snug fit of the Adapter into the Pipe, compensating for variation in inside diameter & “roundness”. ……… Also included are the Specialty Items that simplify the installation: · > Spring Action Center Punch Tool. The Center Punch tool makes a small conical indentation on the Pipe at the field-installed drilled/tapped hole location. (Without the indentation, the Drill Bit will tend to “crawl” off the mark on the round surface.) · > 1/8” Cobalt M35 High-Speed Twist Drill Bit. Use this high-quality, hardened drill bit to make pilot holes at the center-punched indentations (for the self-drilling/self-tapping Retaining Screw, see below). · > #12 hex head self-drilling/self-tapping Retaining Screw. The screw provides easy simultaneous, one-step drilling and tapping of both the 2” Pipe and the installed Adapter. The high-strength screw has an exceptionally durable proprietary Dagger-Guard exterior-duty coating (similar to heavy galvanizing).
