Note on condition: This speaker was part of a pair I purchased as a customer return without the original packaging. Selling as used rather than open box because the other one shows slight signs of use so I'm assuming this one was used as well. Note on sound quality: I'm not going to tell you how great it sounds because opinions differ wildly, but I'll put it this way: I bought two and decided to keep one to use by my fire pit. Additional notes:
There is a USB-C charging port (with waterproofing) on the bottom of the rock which you can use to charge it if your use outstrips what the solar panel can provide.
I tested the speaker for sound quality and lighting, but I didn't test it for battery life. My guess (and hope) is that solar will charge it enough for a couple hours of use by a fire pit, but I wouldn't expect it to crank out sound all day long on your back porch. That's just my personal expectation though, and not based on any science. (Although I can tell you that they have lithium-ion batteries inside of them. Three of them if I remember correctly.)
There is no separate switch for the light, which is hooked to a light sensor in the solar panel. You can turn the whole thing off if you don't want it lighting up every night, but you can't use the speaker without the light.
sub-note on the light: just a heads up in case you want to disassemble it... My plan for the one I kept was to just cut the wire to the lights, and maybe put a switch on it, but the things (4 of them) are soldered right to the board. From the front. Took me almost half an hour and a lot of swearing to get them off of there. But mine now works just fine as a speaker without lighting up :)
